Webpages are written in a language called HTML. HTML is a markup language used to describe web pages. It stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.
HTML documents are made up my HTML elements and are described by HTML tags each tag describes a different part of the document. Tags are keywords surrounded by angle brackets(<>).

- Tags need to come in pairs, one to begin and one to end. The second tag has a slash before the tag.
- HTML elements is everything from the start tag to the end tag, including the content. Elements form the building blocks of a website.
- Tags also have attributes, attributes are extra information. Attributes need to be inserted inside the tags, and their values are put inside quotation marks.
